Brothers and sisters, on July 13, 2022, NYPD sent out a department-wide notice with the context of a marihuana legalization in effect in New York State .

 MEMBERS OF THE SERVICE ARE ADVISED THAT ALL EXISTING DEPARTMENT POLICIES THAT PROHIBIT THE USE OF MARIJUANA REMAIN IN EFFECT. MEMBERS OF THE SERVICE ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE CANNABIS ON OR OFF DUTY AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM, SCHEDULED, AND FOR-CAUSE DRUG SCREENING.

 QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE NYPD LEGAL BUREAU.

Labor Day End of Summer BBQ was a success!! Huge turnout! It was amazing to see all of our members together with their family and friends. Members were able to relax and celebrate the end of the Summer. Children enjoyed the playground and slime table.

First off, want to thank social committee chair Aline Barron for helping to organize the event. Thank you to the rest of the committee including Olivia Duong, Danielle Corniffe, Cindy Baker, Yanitza Osorio, and Ariel Bryant, and Kristy Atkinson. Finally, I would like to thank our grill master Andre Borders who helped make sure everyone’s tummy was full of yummy food.
